About Us

Discover the history and the family spirit that bring Finca Camproig to life, in the heart of the most authentic Mallorca. A finca with deep roots, where tradition, nature, and hospitality remain alive generation after generation.

The History of Camproig

Finca Camproig is a restored family retreat where tradition, sport, nature, and hospitality come together in the heart of Mallorca.

Everything began in 1977, when Juana Rayó decided to build a second family residence. The estate, then in a state of abandonment, was gradually restored, surrounded by new orange trees that soon filled the valley with color and fragrance.

Over time, her eldest grandson’s passion for tennis inspired the creation of a private tennis court, which still remains a family gathering spot today: now it is Juana’s great-grandson who trains there whenever he can.

Since 2014, Finca Camproig has opened its doors as a holiday home, preserving the warm spirit with which it was created. It is managed by Andrés Fiol, Juana’s son and the current owner. Those who stay here enjoy its tranquility, natural surroundings, and Mallorcan authenticity, with every comfort and the heartfelt dedication of a family that continues to care for every detail so that guests feel truly at home.

History of Alaró

Alaró, a village nestled between mountains that preserves centuries of history and the most authentic spirit of Mallorca.

The history of the village focuses mainly on its Castle, first mentioned in the year 902, and documented from the reconquest of Mallorca in the 13th century, when it became the last stronghold of Muslim resistance. In the 20th century, it became the first village in Mallorca to have electricity, and the footwear and mining industries played an important role during this period.

Located on the southern foothills of the Serra de Tramuntana, Alaró is surrounded by mountains that protect it and give it its unique character.

As we have mentioned, its most iconic landmark is the Castle of Alaró, a medieval fortress that overlooks the valley and houses the image of the Virgin of the Refuge, a spiritual and cultural symbol of the village.

From the Ses Artigues fountain, which has supplied water to its inhabitants for centuries, to its character-filled streets, stone houses, and the main square where the church, the town hall, and the bakery stand out. Every Saturday, the weekly market takes place in the square.

Its history dates back to Roman times, continuing with the Muslim presence, who erected the Castle, until their expulsion by King James I in 1229, when the area became part of the Crown of Aragon.

Today, Alaró combines this historical legacy with the serenity of rural Mallorcan life, becoming a destination where history, nature and hospitality come together.
